Members - when your new membership card comes be sure to verify it has the correct type membership! When renewals are done online AQHA frequently sends a "Member" card. If you are an Amateur, it probably does not indicate "Amateur" so your membership is only an open card. If you are an Amateur but card doesn't indicate that be sure to call AQHA and get it corrected. Or a horse show office can update your membership. ...more »
I recommend AQHA limit the number of circuits in each state to encourage exhibitors to attend weekend shows. I realize many exhibitors love the circuits. Trainers only have to set up once. But these are killing the small shows. Looking at AQHA shows in Indiana and Kentucky I noticed something sad. Adding all the shows March through July Indiana has 27 AQHA shows. Of these all but 3 were split combined, many are circuits. ...more »
I find the mobile version of AQHA.Com hard to use. I like using the full site, even on my phone, so I have access to areas I need when I am secretary for a show. Also, There is no "showing" page to access.
Please rework the main page to headings same as Web page.
Need to get info on forms and opening a show to verify a horse's name or number or verify owner/ROM.
Thank you. (The sooner the better!)
AQHA hold a show management seminar every year during Congress. The one seminar at Congress was well attended. I believe an annual one would be as large. Managers would know there where & roughly when they could attend a seminar. I know I would go every year.
Currently only state affiliates can offer All Novice Shows. I believe these shows would be a perfect fit for 4-H groups to host. Even other show sponsors could offer All Novice Shows. By allowing others to sponsor the Novice Shows they would be available in various parts of a state thus reducing the cost to exhibitor in travel. Much more attractive to parents!
Show managers & secretaries cannot attend yearly seminars due to travel cost. I recommend the "book" from management seminar be emailed to all managers & secretaries each year. That way we have the latest information to run our shows. I also recommend a management seminar be offered each year at QH Congress, at the World Show and in Amarillo each year.
The individual age halter classes have reduced the number of halter entries at our shows. Although we tell exhibitors classes can be combined, they don't like the required classes now. We need to go back to the option of show management to offer either platform.
A LOT of exhibitors renew online (or when telephone solicitors were used) and when they come to enter their card is only an open membership and they must purchase the upgrade to amateur, amateur novice or youth novice (if qualified). This should be corrected so the applicant gets the appropriate membership.
Please make a pdf available with the handbook all in one download. I could always just search and my subject would scan the entire handbook for the information I was seeking. Now I have to do section, section, section. Hate it. Too time consuming for me. It would be ok to leave the sections for those who like them; but make it available as one pdf for those of us who download it to our computer. Thank you for your consideration ...more »
