Have vets when doing urine/blood testing also do a,tail test. I have seen WAY to many horses with crooked or unusable tails due to nerve blocking too many times or completely cutting the nerves. It is supposed to be illegal, but almost every trainer I know does it and says you have to to be,competitive. Some of the trainers are AQHA judges as well!
I'd like to see AQHA add a list of my currently owned and previously owned horses on the my AQHA website. This could simplify many forms as well as you could select a horse from the list and print a pdf that generates with it's information to submit, for things such as five panel testing, color testing, DNA parentage verification... creating new foal registration, the list goes on. Since AQHA makes 5 panel genetic testing a requierment they should openly list all horses wich are not n/n on all 5 or just the opposite Only list all n/n on all 5 panel test so we can all make better breeding desiscions.
Why can't AQHA and the current listed owner of the horse being tested be co-owners of the 5-panel test results? This way UC Davis could send BOTH AQHA and the owner of the horse the test results directly? This would make things so much easier and make your members happier b/c they can get their test results faster. In every equitation championship, there is always additional testing. I believe that it should be required that the competitors should come back and do more testing. In both the fences and flat, they should be asked a USEF test 1-19. It's absurd that they only do one pattern or course and that's that. It's the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP and there should be more testing the the top individuals to truly separate and challenge them ...more »
