It would be helpful to have at least a description of the reports that we are able to purchase. I don't know or remember time to time what the letters in the table stand for. Even more helpful would be a sample of each of the reports. I would think this would be a simple addition.
Last year I was told by a Judge that my horse is too old to be competitive. He is now 16 years old - healthy and has never taken an unsound step. Any thought to adding a Super Senior level - I am a middle income amateur exhibitor and I can't afford to invest in a younger horse,(plus I really like this horse, he has done nothing wrong except get older) Most AQHA shows are financially impossible for me to attend and ...more »
Please make a pdf available with the handbook all in one download. I could always just search and my subject would scan the entire handbook for the information I was seeking. Now I have to do section, section, section. Hate it. Too time consuming for me. It would be ok to leave the sections for those who like them; but make it available as one pdf for those of us who download it to our computer. Thank you for your consideration ...more »
I dont not understand the purpose of the novice. I thought it was to encourage new exhibitors into AQHA shows.. why is it then if someone sits out for 3 years or 5 years and may have been showing forever and lots of points, they can come back as a novice.. that doesn't seem right. I have been a trainer for over twenty years, had world show qualifiers, congress winners and is i decided to sit out for five years i can ...more »
Ranch Horse Pleasure has been a very successful and growing class for AQHA and popular among members and new members wanting to try class. Leave class format the same and let this popular class evolve without structural changes. (i.e. leave as individual pattern class, not adding more obstacles etc).
AQHA desperately needs a "Name Change Form" for when a new name is desired for a previously registered horse. AQHA registration department fields many phone calls and tells "the member to write down on a piece of paper and send in $55". This form can be listed in AQHA: Resources section within "Printable Forms" near the AQHA Transfer Report.
Show department (and likely show manager) field many phone calls from members looking at the "Show Calendar" on AQHA website wanting more information about show which they could actually be getting from the AQHA Affiliates website, The AQHA Affiliate Website (or show website if show has one) is not listed just the show managers email. Consider adding Affiliate website and show website in this sample format: STATE (e.g. ...more »
The AQHA show and pro horseman's committee recommended some excellent changes in the ranch horse platform of classes during the 2014 convention. The AQHA executive committee approved some, but not all of those changes and made changes that were not proposed and are bad for the success of this important group of classes. This is a heads up that the exhibitors interested in these classes are putting together another position ...more »
I just passed my mouse across a button and it was registered as a vote when I had no intention of voting and there is no way that I can see to undo it. That needs to be fixed.
Have 1 application membership page were you can renew your whole family, update information and pay in one application.
AQHA needs to allow genetic testing data from certified labs, in addition to UC-Davis. There is no reason data from other labs should not be considered valid.
Why does drug testing only occur on the last day of a multi day show? The halter horses are gone, the english horses are gone and the rest of us are trying to get finished and leave. Horses frequently have to be hauled multiple hours to get home in hot weather. If your horse doesn't pee the testers want to administer something to make them pee. Thus the horse is stressed and possibly low on hydration going home. ...more »
